Portway Scaffolding has been tasked to provide a high level access platform to the underside of an atrium on a new prestigious head office building. The design is complicated due to the differing depths of ring beam steel, so in one area the 750mm beams are connected directly to the underside of the steel frame, in other area they are connected to scaffold tube, hung from the underside of the steel frame. The design has had to take into account the reduced capacity of the steel frame. Temporary access scaffold has been erected to the perimeter of the atrium one level below the roof with a 5 board wide cantilever, so that our scaffolders can walk the beams through and connect them to their final fixing point.
